If you have installed MYSQL after that if you have Installed WAMP or XAMP servers,you may face a situation when you were not able to start MYQL .This is due to the acessing of the MYSQL and MYSQL server in WAMP or XAMP in a same port.SO you need to change the port number.For that you need to follow a sequence of steps.The steps are very easy but you need to be carefull in each steps other wise you may face a situation were unable to start server.I have made the steps as easy as possible.
*Please read the highlighted text carefully
1.UNISTALL MYSQL SERVER
The first thing you need to do is unistall the MYSQL exsisting in your computer.
Control planel => Programs and Features => right click on MYSQL server => Uninstall
2.DELETE THE DATA FROM LOCAL DISK C
This step is to delete your MYSQL server data completly from your computer or the default settings still exsist in your computer.
Go to local disk c
click on organise seen in the top of the menu.
Now click on view and select "show hidden file,folders and drives"=>click Apply and then ok.
Now you can see a folder named Program data.
Click on program data
Now right click on the MYSQL click on delete
3.RE-INSTALL MYSQL SERVER
Now you need to install the MYSQL server as you did early.
4.REMOVING THE DEFAULT SETTINGS
Now Click on Start menu => search "MYSQL" =>Click on Mysql server instance config wizard
CLick ok
Click Next
Select Remove instance and click next
Click on Execute
Click finish
5.ADDING NEW CONFUGURATION
Click on Start menu => search "MYSQL" =>Click on Mysql server instance config wizard
CLick ok
Click next
Click on detailed configuration and Click next
Click next
Click next
Click next
Click next
In this step you will be provided the default port number as 3306 you need to edit this and change the port as 3308 and you need to make sure that tick mark is for the Fire wall exception for this port.Now click on next.
Click next
Int this step you will be given a Default server name as MYSQL.You need to select MYSQL501 in the drag.Now click on next.
Now you need to give a new root password.In some cases you may ask the previous password.Now click next
Now Click on execute it may take some seconds.You can see a tick mark on the "Start service".Now you can click on finish.
6.CONFORMING CONFIGURATION
Actually this step is un necessary .TO ensure that your Myql cnfiguration have sucessfully completed please take mysql and workout a sample progtram.
